Holding Blog

Just a short holding blog for tonight, as we have had a long and very interesting day today: 88.3 miles to our current location, Kingston, in the Gila Wilderness. Since we are both tired and it is getting late, we wouldn’t be able to do the blog justice, so we will wait until tomorrow and tell all then…

  1. I started reading your posts when you came through Biloxi, MS and have been reading them ever since. I been riding a road bike for about 8 months now but I never thought about touring before. I would be interested in the bikes, racks, paniers that you decided to go with. Looks like to me Tusty & Steed are specialized? What an adventure of a lifetime. Raising money for a good cause at the same time.

  2. Pat - great that you are following us. Trusty & Steed are Specialized Tricross comps. We have Tubus airy racks, and Ortlieb panniers (and Ortlieb handlebar bags). These are all lightweight and we love them. We'd also recommend Specialized Nimbus Armadillo Tires, and most importantly of all a Brooks saddle. Having Garmin Edge 705s has also been pretty essential, although they do have a few annoying features at times.... Good luck with it!
